Bari-Med M.D. is a Medical Weight Loss Practice that serves all of Virginia, and the Washington D.C., & Maryland area. We take a Concerige Medicine approach to medical weight loss.  All Telemedicine visits are with Dr. McClendon M.D. a Board- Certified Bariatric Medicine Physician.  Dr McClendon personalizes a medical weight loss regimen for each patient to include safe weight loss medications such as:

  • Tirzepatide (Zepbound/Mounjaro)
  • Semaglutide (Wegovy/Ozempic),
  • Liraglutide (Saxenda/Victoza),
  • Contrave
  • Qsymia
  • Plenity
  • Xenical
  • Phentermine (Lomaira)
  • Phendimetrazine
  •  Diethylpropion

 

 if they are medically appropriate for the patient.   In addition, motivational interviewing and a discussion of the importance of adding the New Direction® Medical-Grade Meal Replacements and exercise, enhances weight loss results.  Since we are a physician supervised medical weight loss practice, we accept insurances in addition to offering affordable self-pay pricing.

The fee for the Consultation appointment with Dr McClendon is $250 and is not covered by insurance. Subsequent monthly follow up visits with Dr McClendon are billed to insurance just as they would when you see a Specialist Physician for a medical condition. You would be responsible for any insurance copays if applicable.

We accept the following insurances:

Aetna
Anthem/ Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS, including FEP)

If you don’t have one of these insurances– no problem!  You would be considered “Self Pay” and would pay out of pocket for the visits.

Consultaiton/ New Patient Telemedicine Visit: $250
Established Patient Self Pay Telemedicine Visit: $130

Prior to your appointment, please send a copy of the front and back of your insurance card, front of driver’s license, and any recent labs, ekg or other pertinent documents to admin@barimedmd.com or secured fax:  641-450-1315.

It is the responsibility of the patient to contact your insurance company to determine if Dr. Patricia McClendon M.D. is a participating provider with your specific insurance plan and that you have telemedicine coverage.

Please check with your insurance plan if you can use your FSA/HSA for reimbursement.

Our Patient Portal

Please register in the Patient Portal as a new patient and complete the registration forms prior to your first appointment.

If you are a new patient and your BMI is less than 25, you do not qualify for weight management services by Bari-Med M.D.

If you are not interested in weight loss medications (Wegovy/Ozempic, Phentermine, Zepbound/Mounjaro, Qsymia, Contrave, Plenity, etc) , we recommend that you seek the care of a dietician, personal trainer, or your Primary Care Provider instead.
